It is a youth-led program that promotes the core constitutional values of Equality, Justice, Freedom, and Fraternity through community-based learning and action. The program is implemented through weekly sessions facilitated by trained youth leaders within their respective communities across Indore. These sessions encourage young people to critically reflect on local social issues, understand existing inequalities, and identify gaps in the practice of constitutional values in everyday life. The program creates spaces for dialogue, collective learning, and community engagement through interactive activities, capacity-building workshops, exposure visits, and social action projects. It aims to nurture socially conscious and responsible young citizens who can actively contribute towards building inclusive and democratic communities. Through continuous participation and experiential learning, young people develop leadership skills, empathy, critical thinking, and a stronger sense of civic responsibility. The program has been supported by Azim Premji Foundation since 2024 and has engaged more than 300 young people across Indore communities.
This 10-day exposure journey helped me see forests, rivers, and lands not as resources, but as people’s identity, history, and home. Listening to communities who continue to protect their land despite displacement, loss, and uncertainty gave me a deeper understanding of their resilience and courage. Their stories reminded me of my own community and the lands we call home—spaces that are often marked as “empty” in development plans, despite carrying our memories, dreams, and lives. I realized that, in many ways, we are fighting similar battles. More than understanding social issues, this journey helped me understand myself. It taught me that meaningful change requires more than passion—it needs collective action, organization, discipline, and persistence. Above all, it gave me the confidence to believe that when people come together with purpose, they can protect what matters most and create lasting change.
At 19, Suhani Gautam is pursuing a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics while nurturing a strong commitment to social change. Her journey as a volunteer with Had-Anhad last year exposed her to the challenges faced by communities around her and deepened her understanding of social issues. Coming from a family that migrated to Indore in search of better opportunities, Suhani has used education as a pathway to growth and empowerment. Today, she is actively learning about constitutional values and building her skills to contribute meaningfully to society. Driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to nutrition, education, and equal opportunities, Suhani aspires to create a future where these rights are accessible to all.
Through regular conversations with community members, Sushma learned that meaningful change often begins with listening. As people shared their experiences, challenges, and aspirations, She realized how trust is built through genuine connection and consistent presence. These interactions not only strengthened her relationship with the community but also deepened her understanding of their realities. They reminded her that when we create spaces where people feel heard and valued, stronger and more supportive communities emerge. This experience taught her that listening is not just a skill—it is the foundation of trust, empathy, and collective growth.
